Glenn Literacy Projects

The Glenn County Adult Literacy Projects, operating in Orland and Willows, are designed to help adult learners achieve their educational goals and participate more fully in their communities, families, and workplaces. These projects offer free, one-on-one tutoring for adults in basic reading, writing, spelling, math, and test study skills. The program utilizes volunteer tutors to assist adult learners in reaching their objectives and completing their education.

 

While the Literacy Program doesn't directly offer high school diploma credits, it provides individualized tutoring and support tailored to each adult learner's specific needs and personal goals. The program has helped individuals pass GED tests, earn high school diplomas, advance in their workplaces, and even become sworn United States citizens. Additionally, for adult learners with children aged 0-5, there's a Families For Literacy (FFL) program that helps parents and children learn together, aiming to break the cycle of illiteracy.
